The Adelle Onyango Initiative creates programs that help equip African youth with skills needed for the job & business markets. It also runs a free group therapy program for African women who have survived rape.
YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Adelle Onyango Initiative has over 4000 registered youth members who have gained accessed to scholarship opportunities, the initiative’s job shadow program, workshops and mentorship opportunities
SAFE 24/7 PROGRAM
The Adelle Onyango Initiative created the Safe247 campaign which is a 14 week free group therapy program for women who have survived rape. AOInitiative then partnered with international NGO Carolina For Kibera on the project.
The Safe 24/7 group therapy program, is designed by 3 clinical psychologists, a curriculum developer and survivors of rape, will be 14 weekly sessions taking survivors from the stabilization phase, grief & re-integration phases of psyco-social support. The sessions include coping mechanism exercises. Survivors will also receive a toolkit to use during the session and even afterwards. The toolkit will have journaling spaces and trigger-coping exercises.
